Ecopsychology Six-Week Course

$69Nature is Good For You—But Do You Know Why?
Come learn about ecopsychology, the psychology of how we relate to nature and the many ways in which it benefits us both mentally and physically. This class at Clatsop Community College is open to everyone, from nature lovers to psychology professionals to those who just like learning about new things. Reading material will be provided for you, and we’ll take part in some educational exercises, too!
In this six week course we’ll cover a variety of topics, including (but not limited to):
- What are ecopsychology and ecotherapy, and how are they being practiced today?
- What is Nature-Deficit Disorder and how can we prevent and treat it?
- How can gardens and pets be a part of ecotherapy?
- How can you benefit from ecopsychology in your everyday life?
When: Wednesdays, Sept 27-Nov 1 from 6:00-7:30 pm.

About the instructor: Rebecca Lexa, MA is a writer and naturalist in Long Beach, WA. She earned her degree in counseling psychology from Lewis & Clark College in 2011, and her certificate in ecopsychology in 2015. She is the primary writer for Watershed Ecotherapy, an ecopsychology resource site at https://www.watershedecotherapy.com and she is currently working toward her Oregon Master Naturalist certification.
